Day 12: Get out and enjoy nature.

Being under quarantine does not mean you have to stay cooped up indoors (unless you’re feeling sick). You can still go out and practice safe social distancing and what better place to do it than the woods, the lake, or the park. I have the great privilege of living in the Midwest and it’s absolutely beautiful.

The roommate and I decided to go mushroom hunting. It’s a little early in the season for morels but that’s ok. Just an excuse to get out in the woods again. We got rained on a little bit, but it was refreshing. I was surprised we didn’t see anyone else on the trails. That was a relief. Large groups of people kind of defeat the purpose of social distancing.

I was saddened by the amount of cans and garbage strewn about the ditch leading up to the park. If you’re going to enjoy nature, respect nature. Here are a few guidelines to follow:
