Living a Greener Life Step 4: R-E-P-L-A-C-E (top green swaps)

Living a greener life means making some changes to our lifestyle. We can change the way we shop, the way we eat, the way we have fun, the way we cook, the list goes on and on. These small changes might not seem like they’re having a big impact, but if enough people swap for greener options, we can greatly reduce our carbon footprint. Here’s a list of my favorite green swaps:

Eat more plants and less meat

Reusable bottles, cups, plates, and straws instead of disposable ones

Bamboo toothbrushes in place of plastic ones

Hemp paper is a great alternative to regular paper

Biodegradable floss, Q tips, and other toiletry items instead of plastic ones

Beeswax wraps and reusable bags instead of disposable options

Line dry your clothes in place of using a machine

LED lights use 90% less energy than regular bulbs

Rechargeable batteries can be used more than once

Dairy-free products are healthier and better for the planet

Clothes made of organic cotton and not synthetic fibers

Shopping local and resale instead of from big corporations

Bottom line:

Products that are reusable, plastic-free, and biodegradable rival their single-use, wasteful alternatives. What other swaps can we make in our every day lives to live a healthier, more eco-friendly life?
